Sultan Salah had been a student at a four-year liberal arts college in Minnesota for just one year when he lost interest in the modern educational system and wished for something more profound.

He left the school, became interested in meditation, and discovered Maharishi University of Management on the internet. He enrolled in the fall of 2008 and finally found his passion: Vedic knowledge. He is majoring in Physiology and Health as well as Maharishi Vedic Science.SM

While taking the Maharishi Self-PulseSM Reading course Sultan fell in love with Maharishi Ayur-Veda.SM In the summer of 2010, he did an internship at The Raj, the Maharishi Ayurveda® health spa in Maharishi Vedic City (just North of Fairfield, Iowa), where he assisted in consultations and helped guests. Soon after, he began giving weekly lectures on diet, digestion, and nutrition. He also teaches Yoga asana classes to the guests.

Wishing to deepen his experience of pure consciousness, Sultan learned the TM-Sidhi® program nine months after he enrolled. “What I appreciate most about MUM,” he said, “is the opportunity to study and explore the inner, subjective field of life as well as the many outer, objective fields of life.”

Sultan enjoys every aspect of Vedic knowledge. He is currently studying Maharishi Gandharva VedaSM music learning to play the Bansuri flute. He loves to create his own ayurvedic meals and recite the Vedic literature in Sanskrit.

“Sultan’s passion for knowledge and excellence is inspiring,” said Dr. Paul Morehead, chair of the Department of Physiology and Health. “His enthusiasm draws knowledge like a magnet. And he lives what he learns. Sultan is a great ambassador for Maharishi Ayur-Veda and Maharishi Vedic Science.”

Sultan is devoted to mastering the art of Pulse Diagnosis and becoming a Maharishi Ayur-Veda expert. “My dream is to help bring Maharishi Ayur-Veda to the world,” he said, “and integrate it with other traditional systems of health.”
