Maharishi University of Management alumni Anna-Maria Cornell (BA ’95) and Matthew Kendz (BA ’04, MVS ’06) joyously run the newly created Office of Alumni Relations and direct the activities of the Alumni Association. They share the responsibility of re-connecting alumni to the University and to each other.
” We see Maharishi University of Management’s Office of Alumni Relations as becoming a vibrant focal point for alumni activity. We want to create many opportunities through which alumni can actively engage with the school and reconnect with each other,” Mattew Kendz, Director of Alumni Outreach.
The first step in this direction was the creation of a website which launched just before Thanksgiving 2010. The Alumni Association Board of Directors developed the site with project manager, and alumnus, Gabe Krechmer. The site offers a variety of features including:
- Social networking
- Job listings
- Alumni card discounts
Whether you spent one block, one year, or more at MUM you can be a part of the alumni network. As a student for one month, you are considered an “associate alumnus.”
“The purpose of the website is to help alumni connect in the most modern way with each other and to connect back to the University in a meaningful way,” said Anna-Maria Cornell, Executive Director of Alumni Relations. “The theme for the website is ‘let us be together.’ One of the founding principals of the association is the principle of giving. Our goal is to give our graduates opportunities they will enjoy.”
There are a few things alumni can do right now to connect to the network of 5,000 MUM graduates:
- Register with the Alumni Association
- Contact Mathew and share your story of what lead you to study at MUM
- Contact Anna-Maria and let her know what kind of alumni activities you are interested in participating in
- Next time you are in town, stop by the Office of Alumni Relations in the Gate Ridge Building on the MUM campus
One of the benefits of joining the Alumni Association is the alumni card which provides members with campus discounts as well as access to a nationwide discount program over called Abenity. The card and registration are free to MUM graduates.
“We want to be able to communicate with alumni all over the world and bring the MUM/MIU experience of community and friendship back to them virtually,” said Matthew Kendz.
Get in touch with Matthew or Anna-Maria through the Alumni Association website.
