At some point in time, most likely during their first class on campus, every Maharishi University of Management student is assigned reading from The Science of Being and Art of Living. Now, it is available on-line as an E-book from both Amazon Kindle and Apple iTunes.
Many Transcendental Meditation teachers and practitioners consider The Science of Being and Art of Living to be fundamental reading for people who have learned Transcendental Meditation (TM ) or who are considering learning.
The practice of TM is core to the consciousness-based education system employed at
Maharishi University of Management, and as such every student and faculty member practices the technique. So, if you are considering coming to Maharishi University of Management (MUM) as a student or just want to learn more about what the school is about, you might want to consider reading The Science of Being and Art of Living.
In the book, Maharishi shares his vision for “a new
humanity developed in all life’s values – physical, mental, material, spiritual.” It was first published in 1963 at the behest of Maharishi’s students for him to commit his teachings to paper. While the book does not provide information on how to practice TM, it does elucidate the practical application of the technique. It also systematically explains the wisdom of the Veda and Vedic Literature, which Maharishi learned from his teacher Guru Dev, as it applies to our modern way of life.
The MUM Press has plans to make other publications available as E-books including Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s commentary on the Bhagavad Gita and Conversations with Maharishi by Dr. Vernon Katz.
Related books currently available as E-books:
- Transcendental Meditation by Robert Roth
- Super Healthy Kids by Dr. Kumuda Reddy and Linda Egenes
