A group of young Maharishi University of Management Alumni have founded Startagig, an innovative, business development platform. Some of the MUM alumni and students involved with this project are: Asher Fergusson, Eric Carter, Supriya Vidic, Graham Torpey and Vivek Iyer. StartaGiG is based on the “wikinomics” model, whereby all companies that are created are part of a family of sister companies. This network of sister companies will create a whole that is more than the sum of its parts, establishing an ecosystem that will support its counterparts in an efficient way.
In a recent interview with Asher Fergusson, he said, “we are moving ahead with the times and creating a new platform for mass collaboration, openness, sharing and giving as the basis of receiving, and really creating a whole ecosystem.” The Gig team says they are not just doing projects but doing projects that change the world.

Startagig is designed to help fulfill the economic goals of MUM, the Fairfield community and the Global TM Organization, while getting more young people to contribute to these organizations in a more fulfilling and sustainable way.
As a first step toward achieving these goals, Startagig is sponsoring a summer Bootcamp in Fairfield Iowa, July 8th – Aug. 18th.
The Fairfield StartaGiG bootcamp will guide companies through the business plan and prototype creation phases and assist with marketing and funding.
For more information on the Startagig project, check out their fundraising video, and if you are interested in joining the bootcamp click here.
