MUM Alumnus – Eric Carter

Maharishi University of Management treated me very well from 2004 to 2008. My previous college experience consisted of  “time off” spent working on trigonometry, and my spring break full of organizing for when classes started again. In 2004 I was absolutely ready to implement a more practical and progressive look at life and education.

I graduated from Maharishi University of Management, Magna Cum Laude completing my undergraduate studies in Physiology and Health with a minor in Sustainable Living and a Masters degree in Maharishi Vedic Science or the Science of Personal Development.

My studies complimented each other very well, and I feel these programs are all three very unique to the core of what MUM offers – the ability to learn about the world and how it connects to us on deeper levels of being. Maharishi University of Management  integrates a teaching style where everything I learned was curved back with a more holistic intention, thus integrated from a more holistic part of my nervous system. My experience evolved as a deeper appreciation for the world, more inner contentment, and increasing efficiency/effectiveness in my activities and now business endeavor.

At the end of my time at Maharishi University of Management I was gifted the fruit of what I had enrolled in this amazing university to find, something that no amount of money, or no scholastic fact could fulfill. My studies in Maharishi Vedic Science bridged the gap between the fulfillment of my own personal development, the environment around me and the ability to effectively move in this environment in very positive and fulfilling ways.

After graduation I went home to the Reno, Tahoe area and stayed at my families cabin for about one year with the intention of writing a book to describe what I had integrated at MUM, in my own language. In-between meditating, writing and trick photography I enjoyed skiing some of the worlds most beautiful terrain. I am very grateful for this period, as it allowed me to take my studies and assimilate them in my own way. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi describes his Vedic Science as the study of life. It is knowing That by which everything else is known. By learning about and from the Source within myself I am able to learn and implement more freely, more creatively and more efficiently.

During the end of my time at Lake Tahoe I created a website about enlightenment and holistic health. I ended up learning a great deal about using social media to aggregate exposure, and establish personal and corporate brand. I found this new information fulfilling and it ultimately ended up guiding me toward some colleagues overseas, and helped facilitate my desire to travel and experience different cultures.

Travel

Asher & Joey in Belgium

In the last two years I have traveled to many countries throughout Europe and India, worked with world leaders in social media marketing, how to get youtube views and search engine optimization, and started a non profit entity based out of Holland. In the last year we have established an internet marketing company in the US, and created many great relationships with some really amazing people.

Currently, we are working with international partners establishing projects ranging -  language and translation/communication to  business creation, as well as helping amazing local Fairfield business’s like Conference Calling Unlimited.

I have been very fortunate thus far in my life, having lived in some of the most beautiful locations in the world including: Northern California, Hawaii, Europe and India. I have had some fulfilling career paths working as a firefighter, health educator, and title searcher. Furthermore, I have achieved great fulfillment and merit from my athletic endeavors, family and friends. But, none of these more great than the wordless achievement born form a deep desire to know myself more thoroughly.

What we create in this world is a direct reflection of what is contained within…

What a wonderful word picture you paint of your educational experience and your subsequent life journey. Over the years I have talked with many students of both traditional and nontraditional schools. Very few have found the kind of personal fulfillment apparent in your blog post. Good luck with your ongoing commitment to life and learning.
